Our learning curriculum changes each year to specifically accommodate the social and educational needs of each age group.  All our programs are designed to provide a positive experience to build each child's self-esteem – one of the most valuable tools children can acquire during the first five years of life.

Our Two Year Old Program encourages language development and exposes the children to basic concepts and skills. The daily schedule includes age-appropriate lesson plans, art projects, development of fine/gross motor skills, music and movement exercises and organized inside/outside activities.

Our Three Year Old Program is designed to encourage the pre-schooler to explore a variety of basic concepts and skills. The children will learn names, sounds, and pictures of all the letters of the alphabet. The curriculum includes shape and color recognition, opposites and positional concepts. Poems, nursery rhymes, stories, and fingerplays are integrated to make the learning process more meaningful and a fun experience for the children.

The children in our VPK Program will study phonics, math concepts, letter/number recognition and science exploration to name a few. Arts and crafts, music and movement, educational computer games, and physical education are also an important part of the program. They enjoy monthly field trips and special visitors that coincide with the themes being discussed.

When the Afterschoolers arrive from Lighthouse Elementary, they participate in the many fun-filled activities including athletic games, art and crafts projects and music/movement exercises. Computers are accessible and quiet areas are available if homework needs to be done. Your Afterschooler may also come to Bluffs School full time when the Public Schools are closed and half days on Early Release days at no extra charge.
