December 2023 School News

Dear Parents,

The holiday season is in full swing here at the Bluffs School. Your participation in our school activities has been excellent, and the donations towards our Thanksgiving food drive were sure to put a smile on many families' faces. We are grateful for your support and ongoing commitment to our school community. YOU ROCK!

'Tis the season for giving! This month, we will continue our community outreach efforts by partnering with the Pajama Program, a non-profit organization. We respectfully ask our families to donate new pajamas. You will see a donation box in our front lobby tomorrow. The Pajama Program will locate an organization in our area to ensure our pajama donations go to children in need. We appreciate your support!

It's time to explore December celebrations, observances, and activities from many cultures. What is another name for St. Nicholas? What is a Menorah? What is Kwanzaa? The answers to these questions will be highlighted in December lessons covering multi-cultural holiday traditions. Students need to understand the world around them and know that not every child is just like them. By honing in on specific geographic locations and learning how they celebrate holidays, it creates a connection that is meaningful and enlightening. Be sure to check out the pictures teachers will send home showcasing the classroom education to see evidence of learning fun! Speak to your child's teacher if you want to share a unique tradition from your family with the class.

Our event calendar is full this Holiday Season! Below is a snapshot of event dates; however, all are posted on our lobby board if you forget.
